Campus Walk | Gainesville Apartment Review

I visited Campus Walk after leaving campus and figured that on a beautiful fall afternoon I might as well walk there. What a pleasure! The community was only about a 10-15 minute walk from my class! I've lived at a community a bit farther away from school where I had to take the bus. Sometimes in the morning and afternoon I'd get bumped off or I'd have to elbow people out of the way to get on at the main stops like the Reitz Union. It’d be so nice to be able to walk home in the amount of time it’d take me to wait for the bus!

Once I was at the community I learned about all the amenities that Campus Walk offers. Of the typical amenities you see at most student housing complexes, there’s one that stood out and really made a difference to me. It was the community wide Wi-Fi! Most of the communities around Gainesville advertise that high-speed internet is included, but this usually means you have to purchase an ethernet cord to plug your computer in to get internet, or you have to purchase a wireless router to broadcast a wireless network. At Campus Walk you don’t have to worry about that! As soon as you move in you can jump onto the network and you’re surfing the web. Even if you are at your neighbors place or in the leasing office, you’ll be able to connect to the internet in a snap!

If you choose not to walk your other options include driving and they provide a decal for all residents’ cars, biking and they have secured bike cages, and bus since they are located on a bus route. One bus route even goes all the way to the Oaks Mall. I know that when I was a freshman and didn’t have a car I’d have to make 2-3 connections to get to the mall. At Campus Walk you can get some shopping done on Archer and at the Mall from one route!
