I got the keys to my new place. What should I do before I start moving things in?

Excellent question! You want to make sure that the unit is in good condition. The last thing you'd want to figure out is that there is a huge problem AFTER you've moved all your stuff in. Use a lamp to make sure all of the electrical sockets are working correctly. You will be able to notice any problems with the floors or walls but also check areas behind doors and inside of closets. You will also want to check that the appliances are working correctly and that there is no evidence of terminates or water damage.

What questions should I ask about renting a Gainesville apartment?

There are definitely a few things you want to ask before you put your signature on a lease. Most questions you should ask will be answered in the lease so it is very important to take the time to read the terms of the lease. If you have a problem be sure to vocalize it to the leasing staff; they can’t fix a problem they don’t know about. If you are having an issue with an appliance or something inside your Gainesville apartment, call the maintenance staff to have to come out and fix the problem. If you are having issues with your neighborhoods, paying rent, or something else regarding your lease terms make an appointment at the office to sit down and talk to them.
