I’m new to UF, are there any good coffee shops near my apartment in Gainesville?

There are some amazing coffee shop options within easy walking or driving distance to apartments in Gainesville! With The University of Florida at the heart of the city, Gainesville is home to a huge student demographic. It only makes sense that local businesses are tailored to the needs and wants of students. As such, there is an abundance of coffee shops and studying nooks all across the city to satisfy caffeine-hungry students. From Maude's downtown to Cymplify in northwest Gainesville, there are eclectic, comfy coffee shops suited to any study space preference- all perfect for escaping rainy Florida days, and many within walking distance of apartments in Gainesville.

Pascal's Coffeehouse

Located in Midtown, this spacious coffee shop serves up craft coffee and Cuban espresso from a limited but beloved menu, all within walking distance of Library West. Plus, the classical music and bookshelf dividers are perfect for collaboration and conversation.

Pascal's
located: 112 NW 16th St, Gainesville, FL 32603

Maude's

This quirky, eclectic café is in the heart of downtown Gainesville and offers a wide variety of coffees, teas and desserts like the Dolly Parton tiramisu. Maude's boasts a spacious outdoor seating area with strings of lights and a view of downtown. To top it all off, it's just a five minute walk from multiple Gainesville apartments located in the downtown area.

Maude's located: 101 SE 2nd Pl, Gainesville, FL 32601

Karma Cream

Karma Cream is most famous for its vegan fare and minimalist aesthetic, but meat-lovers should not overlook this Gainesville gem. They have an abundance of seating in their new downtown location and a lively atmosphere to boot. If you need a study break from your Gainesville apartment, this should definitely be at the top of your list.

Curia on the Drag

This Gainesville favorite is more than just a coffee shop with a plant-based kitchen, art gallery and marketplace all on their property. Located north of campus, they are set apart from major student hubs, perfect for escaping the hustle and bustle of campus life. They have ample seating both indoors and out and have plenty of lawn space to sprawl out on for when the seating fills up.

Curia on the Drag
located: 2029 NW 6th St, Gainesville, FL 32609

Wyatt's Coffee

Wyatt's is a newer Gainesville gem, and is actually located on the same block as Maude's and the Downtown Starbucks. While some might think it was a bold move to add another coffee option to the Downtown Gainesville mix, Wyatt's stands out from the crowd with a modern feel and expert handcrafted drinks. The interior of Wyatt's is a bit small, so it isn't a great place for a meeting during peak times. However, if you're just stopping by for a solo study session and are craving a delicious cold brew—this is your spot.

Wyatt's Coffee located: 202 SE 2nd Avenue Gainesville, FL 3260

Of course, if you're on a tight budget or just not in the mood to get dressed and leave your apartment, there are some great hacks for creating a study-friendly atmosphere in your apartment. But when coffee cravings set in, and studying is at an all-time high, be sure to check out some of these Gainesville cult favorites for all your caffeine needs.
