Gainesville has quite a bit to offer during the holiday season to keep you and your little ones entertained. The great news is, you may not even have to venture far from your Gainesville apartment to enjoy some of the holiday sights and sounds! Here are some ideas to get you started.

Light Displays

If you and your little ones enjoy elaborate displays of Christmas lighting and scenery, be sure to check out the Holiday Lights at North Florida Regional Medical Center Duck Pond. This is an annual lighting display event that runs from the first of December to the first of January. It features your favorite holiday and winter characters and themes, all lit up and reflecting off the nearby Duck Pond. Depending on where you're located in the city, you may even be able to see the lights from your balcony or patio! This is free, guaranteed to be a fun walk through for you and your little ones.

Sleigh Rides

Florida is perfect for a day of outdoor holiday activities. We and enjoy the holiday festivities with slightly warmer weather. Through the month of December, Gainesville families are invited to visit the Peanut Patch & Corn maze Christmas wonderland. You and your little ones can enjoy a whole day of activities including taking pictures with Santa, a Christmas movie outdoors, and even a sleigh ride through a maze. It's open every Friday and Saturday the first 3 weekends of December from 5pm to 10pm. Admission is $10 per person and children under 3-years-old are free!

Staying Inside

Of course, if no matter what else there is going on around Gainesville, you can always opt for an evening inside with your Gainesville apartment with your family. You could plan a nice holiday slumber party for you and the little ones. Try a holiday craft, bake holiday cookies, have a Christmas song karaoke night, or if you live in quiet apartments, maybe a night of binge watching Christmas movies might suit you better. Also, try checking with your apartment to see if there are any holiday resident activities for you all to participate in.

These are just a few of the many holiday activities Gainesville has to offer you and your family. A further search of some community message boards may give you some more insight. Hopefully this information gets you started and helps you all have a great holiday!
