I loved the community feel of living in a dorm- everyone always hung out and knew each other. Are there any close-knit apartment communities?

Transitioning from living in a dorm with 80+ other floor-mates to an apartment alone or with a couple roommates can be hard. Luckily, there are many apartments in Gainesville that strive to provide residents with a friendly community lifestyle.

Many apartment communities host events such as pool parties, barbeques, sports-watching parties, socials and more! For example, The Woodlands likes to celebrate “Resident Appreciation Week.” In 2013, the apartment community hosted an ice cream social, free Panera breakfast and a carnival in celebration of their awesome residents. The best way to hear about these event is by checking your mail, your apartment’s Facebook page (if available) or visiting the main office.

Apartment facilities are another great way to meet new people and hangout with new friends. The Crossing at Santa Fe and Retreat at Magnolia Parke are just a couple of the apartments that offer a community movie theater. Residents can bond over popcorn and sweets while taking in the latest cinema.

Sports facilities, such as tennis, basketball and volleyball courts are a great way to spend time with fellow residents. Windmeadows, The Polos and Oxford Manor are a few apartments that feature resort-style pools, tennis, basketball and volleyball courts. Swamp Rentals provides a tool for users that allows them to filter their apartment searches based on desired sports facilities.

Whether it’s attending management-run events or just stopping by the morning coffee bar, there are many ways to make your apartment community feel more personal.
