Whether you are new to Gainesville, just starting to come out again since COVID shut things down, or just got your vaccine and feel comfortable getting out again, you may have noticed Gainesville has continued to grow these last few years. Whether you are looking for a spot for a Girl's night out, date night, or a team-building event for your company, we compiled a list of some of the newer spots around your Gainesville apartment for your night out.
ROOTS PLANT STUDIO
You may have noticed that indoor plants are all the rage right now. From the many health benefits and just plain aesthetics, this trend continues to grow, and Roots Plant Studio located in Magnolia Parke in Northwest Gainesville has all things to beautify your apartment in Gainesville. They offer a wide array of indoor plants, fun décor, and accessories, and you can make your own terrarium at their DIY terrarium bar, which makes for a fun and unique option for a night out or team building activity.
DAVE & BUSTERS
Dave & Busters is a favorite to many, and Gainesville now has its own location in the Celebration Pointe area. If you've never been to a Dave & Busters, it is a video arcade, restaurant, and sports bar all rolled into one and fun for everyone of all ages. The location offers happy hour and other specials, a venue for special events, and a ton of TVs to watch your favorite University of Florida Gator sports.
PINSPIRATION GAINESVILLE
The Pinspiration Gainesville craft studio located west of I-75 near Splitz bowling alley (another fun favorite in town) is where everyone's inner artist or crafter can be released. Choose from a variety of projects like canvas painting to string art or get messy in the splatter room. That's right, while you wear protective gear, you get to enjoy flinging paint on a canvas to create your own work of art. Or book your own party or event in their studio or at your own location.
THE HATCHETBURY
The Hatchetbury is located NW 8th Avenue and NW 2nd Street for those with a downtown Gainesville apartment and is Gainesville's only axe throwing bar. The location includes nine throwing lanes, eightteen targets, and a full bar perfect to release stress, fun night out, or special event venue in the VIP party room. Don't worry if you've never thrown an axe, they have experts or as they call them "axe-perts" ready to help you with your throw.
AMERICA'S ESCAPE GAME GAINESVILLE
Another fun night-out venue in downtown Gainesville is America's Escape Game, located off of University Avenue. You and your teammates are locked in a room and work together to try to escape while solving intellectual and physical puzzles. This makes for a great team building for friends, coworkers, and families and is rated "the #1 Escape Attraction in Florida."
SPURRIER'S GRIDIRON GRILLE
The last on our list isn't officially open to the public yet, but it is sure to quickly become a Gainesville favorite for any night out or special event. Spurrier's Gridiron Grille is located in Celebration Pointe, and from the name, you may have already guessed, is owned by the Gator great known as "the Head Ball Coach" himself, Steve Spurrier. It is described as part restaurant and part football museum and includes many trophies and memorabilia from Spurrier's career. Follow the restaurant for opening dates, or if you are looking for a job, they are now hiring.
