Madison Suter

Madison Suter is a second-year Marketing student at the University of Florida, minoring in Mass Communications. This combination is reflective of her desire to bring together her analytical business mind with her creative side. Madison has future goals of working in the digital marketing and social media fields, so she is very excited to get real world experience being on the iLS Network team.

Originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Madison always knew she wanted attend college out of state. She applied to fifteen schools, but after touring UF she knew she had found her home in the swamp. Being an out-of-state student, Madison joined the sorority Kappa Kappa Gamma to quickly connect with others and find her place at college. She now helps with recruitment, participates in philanthropy, and even lives with three of her sorority sisters.

Madison chose to live in the HUB on University this year mostly because of its close proximity to the business school and her sorority. She takes advantage of the HUB's many amenities by having a pool day, working out at the gym, or getting some schoolwork done in one of the study rooms. Madison also enjoys decorating her room, especially with some cute, low maintenance fake plants. Since all of her roommates are from different states, the girls each have a poster of where they are from in the living room, so they all feel a little more at home.

Madison is involved in several organizations on campus including the Heavener Leadership Challenge (HLC) where she works with her peers to strengthen the five practices of exemplary leadership and prove that leadership is a learnable skill. She is also a member of the American Marketing Association (AMA) and participated in the Business Undergraduate Mentorship Program (BUMP), both of which help students to network and connect with those in her career field. She hopes that her involvement will develop her as a young leader in her profession and further her educational experience.

When Madison isn't doing schoolwork or sorority activities, she likes to stay active and experiment with local food. She was a dedicated swimmer in high school and now coaches for a youth swim league and lifeguards every summer. She likes to make working out fun and prefers not to do it alone, so she has experimented with spin classes while back home in Pennsylvania and has frequented the hip-hop fitness and yoga classes offered at UF. To balance out all of the activity, Madison also loves trying different restaurants in Gainesville. She is a fan of the 4th Avenue Food Park and has recently tried Satchels' deep-dish pizza. She is a longtime fan of the original Satchels and the new location gets her stamp of approval too, but her favorite place to grab a bite to eat is still Sublime Tacos.
